Saturday before last my mister and I went on a date day. Yes, date nights don’t always have to be at night. Wherever, whenever, or as Ms. Janet sang, “Anytime, Anyplace” a date night can happen. For those of you that follow me on Instagram, you may have peeped glimpses of my date day. It was super fun. The plus side to being married to your best friend, is you’re married to YOUR best friend. Whenever we hang out, foolery is sure to arise.
We started off with lunch at Don Pedro Taqueria on Bufford Highway. Don Pedro reminds me of home, Southern California, and I definitely will be back. For one, you need to be able to half way speak, or understand, Spanish to place an order. Second, the clientele appears to be 99% Hispanic. Third, they have an extensive salsa bar. I almost did a little dance when I saw the pickled carrots and jalapenos that were available, that made me know Don Pedro was authentic. Note: You can’t call yourself a Mexican food connoisseur if you don’t know about pickled carrots and jalapenos.
I ordered a burrito, also now known as the “Big Ass Burrito”, with rice and beans. It was huge!
I think it was even bigger than my head.
My burrito was vegetarian and, since my Spanish was rusty, I did not understand that a vegetarian burrito did not come with rice and beans inside. I was a bit bummed by that, but it was still good never the less. Plus, for $7.99 I could not beat the amount of food that was on my plate. My husband had a carne asada burrito and he enjoyed every bite.
Later we went to Laser Voyage Cafe, and that was a blast. I scored a great deal off of Loclly, I’ll have to do a post about on-line deal discounts at a later date, and we enjoyed every second running around in the dark taking aim at one another.
Oh, and drum roll please, I even managed to get some outfit pics in. Clearly when a camera comes out I lose my mind. I was so in love with my hair that day, I felt like a B-Girl and had to bust some funky moves. I’m from Brooklyn, yo! Okay, not really.
It was super hot that day in Atlanta so I kept it casual cool. I rocked camouflage capris from Old Navy, layered a couple of tank tops from Forever 21′s Faith Line, broke out my favorite sandals I bought in Oahu, and kept the sun out with my ASOS sunnies.
Hope you had a great weekend! XOXO, Miss Foodie Fash!
P.S. Some of the items I wore are no longer in stock, but links provided are very similar.
